New Watch, Old Cell

                                                                     NPL - Day 11

In this world where Success, Power, Wealth is given the top most priority there are other things that we have forgotten. We have forgotten the value of love and virtue. The definition of advanced technology has changed. Human behavior, principles and the entire system has completely changed. What is the reason for this?

An old man used to sell vegetables in his shop. A boy comes to him everyday to buy vegetables and gives him Rs 5 duplicate coin(Khota sikka) thinking that he cannot see. He tells everyone that the old man cannot see and we can all give him duplicate coins.Everyone gives the old man duplicate coins. But the old man accepts the coin even though he knows that the coin is duplicate. During his last moments, the old man prays to God that, " God please accept me as and please do not look at my flaws".
This is like New Watch, Old Cell! The moral of the story is that the man maintained his relations with love even though he knew he was being cheated.

If a customer goes to another shop instead for buying an item from our shop, we get angry. Why? What has the customer done? If we own a Mercedez and someone else also purchases a Mercedez, we become unhappy. Why? How does it disturb our happiness?

Maintain Relations with Love:
River without water and Relations without love are of no value. To live a healthy life, water is necessary and to live life happily, love is important. How many ever new relations we make, it should have the essence of love in it. Without love and water life cannot go on. There is a battle in every house and crime is increasing due to absence of love. "Faults are thick when love is thin".
Let us observe on this point - " I have not been given enough love or I have not given enough love to others?" Is there a limitation for love? Love never reduces when given, then why are we hesitant to give love?To receive love we have to first learn to give love.
Todays trend is to make thousands of friends on facebook. Lets stop the efforts to just make new friends or relations, but lets try to increase the love in the existing relations.

Every Problem has its Solution:

How many times have you caught yourself saying that there could be no solution to a problem - and that the problem leads to a dead end?
In olden days, the saying was "Man has a Problem" but these days the saying is "Man himself is a problem".
We have problems in health, wealth, happiness and everything we can think of.
Human beings need sun, water, light, trees and everything that nature provides. We cannot live without nature but nature can live without us. If there is problem, find a solution.
Many educated people have forgotten to smile and love. The consequences to this is Stress.
If the climate is very hot, it is a problem but if we accept the fact that it is hot, then it is a solution.
We become sad if there is no solution to our problem. If we have some health issues, do we go to the lawyer? The solution is we go to a doctor.
If there are thorns in our path, the simple solution is to wear shoes.
In life if there is a problem, either there is a solution or there is no solution. In case there is no solution then we have to learn to accept it and be happy. Man is not sad because of the problems in his life, but man is unhappy because there is not solution to his problems. Today's world there are so many suicide cases. Why? We end our lives because we are not able to find a solution to our problem.
Problems or obstacles are good. Without problems, growth cannot happen. No problem ever came without a solution.
Be a Problem Solver and not a Problem Creator.

3. Remember your Ethics in any Atmosphere:

Ethics provides a guide to proper behavior. To be healthy in any type of atmosphere ( good or bad),  we have to remember and follow our ethics. We think that tomorrow will be good, but tomorrow will be worse because of the lack of ethics.
Our life style has become such that we eat in hotels and now a days, outside food is delivered at home.
Due to lack of ethics, there is communication and generation gap. With the kind of ethics we have, do you think there can be another Vivekananda after 50 years?
Today's generation have forgotten their ethics. Watching TV after 12, Sending vulgar messages on mobile, pornography have all become so common. Where are the ethics?
We need ethics in order for there to be Order in the worlds. If we have no ethics, the order of things would spiral our of control. There would be no checks and balances for society.

4. Rich Interpretation:

What kind of interpretation do we have? Rich or Poor interpretation? The person who has rich interpretation is always happy and always see's something good even in bad. The person who has poor interpretation is always unhappy and see's bad even in good.
If an incident occurs, it is not in our hands. But how to tackle the incident is in our hands.
A drunk man falls inside a pit and still is happy? Why? Because he is drunk and he is not aware that he has fallen down.
Lets keep the strength of rich interpretation and lets say No to poor interpretation.
A man prays to God that if he gets his 50 lakh pending payment, he will give 50% to God. But he gets only Rs 25 lakhs. What is his interpretation? If he has a rich interpretation he will give 25 lakhs to God. If he has a poor interpretation, he will give half of it to God and the third case is he would say that God has already taken his share from 50 lakhs!
Any thing in this world has its price and value.
A vulgar poster is sold for Rs 500/-. The posters price is Rs 500/- but its value is when it creates wrong desires. A man lives in the price world but a saint lives in the world of virtue.

5. Virtues:

Virtue, by definition, is the moral excellence of a person. A morally excellent person has a character made up of virtues valued as good. He or she is honest, respectful, courageous, forgiving and kind. Because of these virtues or positive character traits, he or she is committed to doing the right thing no matter what the personal cost, and does not bend to impulses, urges, desires but acts according to values and principles.
In a family if the members have no virtue, what will be the outcome of such a family? If society has no virtues, what will be the outcome? No one will respect or value each other. If the government has no virtues, what will be the outcome? It will not be elected the next time.
Our standard of living is high. But there must be high understanding.
Why do we say Good Morning? We say good morning as we thank God that we have got one more inning to do good.

Hence, if we have Love, Virtues, Rich Interpretation and Ethics, our life will be easy in any situation. This is the Universal Truth.
