Life is Beautiful

                                                                   NPL - Day 16

Life is indeed beautiful for those who know how to live well. It is not the years in your life that count, it is the life in your years that count. There are many things in life that will catch our eye, but only a few will catch our heart and we have to pursue those.
There are lots of beautiful things around us. It's just a matter of how we see it and whether we're able to realize it. In life, of course there are always some ups and downs. However, even in the most difficult situation, there's always a beautiful thing. Everything happens for a reason.

A talk was going on between God and Darkness. Darkness was complaining to God that the Sun has been always after me even though there is no enmity between us". God told this to the Sun. The Sun replied, " Leave it to me, I will handle it, Ask darkness to meet me."  But it is impossible for darkness to meet the sun, as where there is sunlight, darkness cannot exist.

In life, Money, Wealth, Power, Status etc., cannot bring us happiness. To make life beautiful we have to follow these rules:

1. Thoughts:

Situation, Things and People are not in our hands. In life any situation can occur, any thing can happen and people can also hurt, love or blame us. These are not under our control, however, our thoughts are under our control. Our thoughts have to be transparent like a crystal and clean like water.
A teacher asks his students to imagine this situation, " Imagine you are locked in a room, no exit to go out and the room is completely dark and the building is on fire. How will you come out?"
One of the students replies, " If this is the situation, why should we even imagine such things?"
Likewise thoughts our in hands. We are shaped by our thoughts, we become what we think. When the min is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.
Have we ever asked a Saint why he has chosen this path?
A Saint's life is rough and tough but still they are happy because of the control on their thoughts. As days go by, a Saints thoughts become refined and in the end becomes pure.
There are two types of thoughts:
a.) Wrong Thoughts
b.) Bad Thoughts
Why so much of investment on wrong & bad thoughts. It is okay if we do not have money, wealth, status, power but we have to bring good thoughts in order to make our life beautiful. It is our responsibility to delete bad thoughts and it is not impossible to do.Bad thoughts do not come because of our culture.
We see a vulgar poster and it brings out the inner snakes out of us. We lie, cheat, hurt people for money which is never going to come along with us. Life's court can forgive us for our mistakes but there is no forgiveness in the court of God.
If we do not want to disturb our thoughts the no one has the power to do so. Lord Mahavira did not disturb his thoughts even when a cow herder hammered nails in Lord Mahavira's ears. Lord Mahavira did not bring Bad thoughts for the cow herder but instead prayed for him.
Every day at least for one hour lets try not to bring any bad thoughts to our mind and by chance if it comes then we have to take reverse action and stop such thoughts as thoughts do not come without invitation.

2. Sense(विवेक):

Sense is to know what is right and what is wrong. While buying vegetable, we pick up the good one's, we remove stones from grains, likewise we have to choose the good and leave the bad.
We have to know what our eyes should see, ears should hear and tongue has to speak. For eg. Don't watch anything on TV that challenges your sense, don't speak or hear anything bad that challenges your sense.
In this generation, even an 8 year old has a mobile. There is TV in every room of our house. We have all the means and things in life that can spoil us. Why?  Is it compulsory? Think about it.
A Saint changes his walking path as a dog barks at him every day. The Saint changed the street so that the dog does not bark at him and he should not become the reason for the dog's sins.
Today, more than ever before, life must be characterized by a sense of Universal Responsibility, not only nation to nation and human to human, but also human to other forms of life.

3. Trust(विश्वास):

Trust makes life work. We eat food prepared by others, drive on roads built by others, we rely, every day, actions of others, and we are relied upon in turn. Where trust fails chaos closes in. Our entire civilization relies on a singular faith that we can count on others. Where trust is thick, we walk out of our homes, go shopping, play in the park, knowing that we are safe, knowing that danger is rarity.
Think about 5 people in our life whom we trust completely. Today, a father does not trust his son, a husband does not trust his wife. People say that there is generation gap between a father and his son. There will always be a generation gap between a father and his son. A wife and her husband don't have generation gap but still there is no trust or why do they quarrel? We are poor in the field of trust and not even confident in our selves.
Acharya Shree was travelling with his disciples on his way from Surat to Ahmedabad. But in the middle of his journey he got a mandatory message that they have to go to Mumbai. Acharya Shree took a diversion without any arguments or any question because of his unbeaten trust on his Guruji.
So we have to trust God. our parents, our family members and firstly ourselves. We should atleast have faith in them.

4.Love and Affection(वात्सल्य):

"Love all, Serve all". We should have a feeling of love and kindness towards all beings - an ant, a dog, towards all other human beings and above all God.  A true believer is one with whom others feel secure, one who returns love for hatred, like a baby feels secure in his mothers arms.
If our son sits to have his lunch, we feed him with love. If two other of his friends come home, would we feed them with the same love? Why the difference?
An old man was so kind and filled with affection for all. His son gave him an overcoat as it was very cold. When he came back after an hour he did not have the overcoat. On being asked by his son, the man replied " On my way back, few puppies were born and were shivering from cold. So I covered the puppies with the coat to protect them from winter." Another day, the son's wife does not find her expensive saree which was drying on the rope. She asks her husband about the same and the husband then thinks that his father must have done something. He calls his father and asks. The father replies, " I was standing outside in the gallery and a beggar was begging for something. I found the saree on the rope and gave it off to the beggar."
The son remembers his fathers good deeds after his death. He prays some virtues in him must be like his father.

5. Relax:

The art of resting the mind and the power of dismissing from it all care and worry is probably one of the secrets of energy in great men.  A person who flies the kite for the whole day, rests and relaxes in the evening.Birds that fly in the sky throughout the day also rest in the night. Similarly, Guruji says that all people above 55 years of age have to retire and dedicate their time for God. We can take out time to go to the temple.m blind school, old age home etc. We have to use this time to do all the good things that we thought of, however, were never able to do.
If we want to be happy, today is the day,
If we want to do some good deed, today is the last day!

All these above mentioned points are Universal Truth to make Life beautiful.
There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle and the other is as though everything is a miracle. Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when your riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts.put your vision to reality. Wake up and Live!
